Early Days of HTML

Published by Christine at 4:21 pm under Geek

Way way way back in the days of early web development (1996) I took a HTML class. Everything was handcoded, all CAPS and validation was far in the future. We are talking HTML 1.something baby! Anyway, one of the assignments was to make an animated gif. So I made one with seven different hand drawn images and then an archaic and PITA application would basically flatten them. It was complicated, but I was cleaning a directory in my ISP account and found my very first animated gif! Even then you could see my humor was twisted and well ….. wierd.

I remember this and how proud you were, in a fledgling geek way.

God, when I first learned HTML there was no way to include images yet. How can I be so old at such a young age?!?
