Water Water Everywhere

There has been a lot of rain in this neck of the woods. But my water woes happened before the rain. Right before xmas, I got my usual happy water bill and opened it up. Instead of my normal 2-3k water use I had used 13 thousand and now own the water company 180 bucks. Whoa! I called the water department and had the meter rechecked. The guy showed up when I was home (good thing) and said there was no leak and I was using that much water and in fact since the bill has come in I had used 10k more. I called BS and asked him to show me. We go to the meters where he has been reading the wrong one. *sigh* We found the right one and it was running. Turn off the water at my house, leak still going. So I was not crazy and had not been using 23k gallons a month. I called the HOA and the woman in charge of my complex is on vacation until the 1st. Her proxy calls the plumber, but good luck in finding one during xmas weekend. And John and I were leaving the next day for Southern California.

So during the week I called her up and she said it was fixed. We returned home Thursday and early the next morning plumbers are there creating a huge hole and we have no water. Poor guys worked in the thudding raining. Anyway 6 hours later I notice they are gone and the water is back, really wish they would have told me. The leak caused dirt and crud into the pipes and the 2nd bathroom toilet broke. John made it work, but it still needs some tinkering. I’ll call the HOA tomorrow and find out what my damages are and look forward to the next water bill. Its gonna be huge.
