This weekend Julie, Babs and I finally got our schedules together and were able to go glass shopping. A year, almost 2 actually, we took a fused glass class and made some stunning works of art at the cost of money and blood (glass is sharp!) Well we finally signed up for another one starting in 2 weeks, but we decided to be proactive and buy the materials before the class. If we are further more proactive, we can do the cutting before and save on some time. Unlike last time, it didn’t take until the end of time as we know it to purchase the glass, the glass clerk had the prices sorta written down. Afterwards we went drinking, but that is another story.
After I dropped off the girls, made my way down to Berkeley to join John for dinner with some of his peeps. They had just come from Wondercon and had had a glorious time. (John got me an Andy Lau dvd, *sigh*) Of course we had Ethopian and honey wine, yum. Service was extremely slow but I met some new people and I think everyone had a good time. Jim and Anne Marie had just gotten engaged the week before so we got to hear their stories, it was cute.
Then we made our way to Blakes on Telegraph. The nice bouncer asked for my ID. Jim’s brother was playing and they sounded pretty damn good. Some chick was passing out flowers and conversation heart candy to promote AXE, some perfume. It was only later then I was able to read the hearts. Instead of “Be MIne” and “You Cute” these hearts say “Breakfast?” “Sleep Over?” and “Lets Party”. Classy….
