Kelly and Tim were married this Friday, August 11. Everything went smoothly and a good time was had by all. I scrambled to leave work early to make the 2:30 “hitching time” at the court house in the city. To save time (I wasn’t able to get the day off) I got all dressed up before arriving at work. Many many co-workers commented on it, making me wonder if I look like hell all the other days.
John arrive, we flew out to the car and sped down to the City. John dropped me off at the courthouse at 2:26 then went off in search of parking. I ran thru security and found Kellys family eagerly waiting. The happy couple appeared, and inside the beautiful rotunda, they were married. The entire ceremony took less than 10 minutes. Then came pictures and pictures. The highlight was when one guy walking by was asked to take the group photo. Of course he was a visitor from Germany and English not his speciality. But I bet that will be the best photo of the lot!
The next step was the reception. This was held at the Fairmont Hotel, although according to Mapquest is only 4.3 miles away, Mapquest sucks. John and I got lost and it took over an hour to find the place. It seems we were missed (and probably teased) because people cheered and laughed when we arrived.
The newlyweds had reserved a suite, there were 3 large tables and basically the reception was a very nice room service. The food was great, the company was wonderful. Kelly has an extended family, whose branches are similiar to mine, and it was really nice to talk to her former stepmother, the various brothers and sisters and their various spouses. I also got to spend some time with Patty, who I just dont get to see that often. (Yes I am lame)
The wedding favours were individual tea cups, hand picked for each guest, the name wrapped in white paper and the light coming from electric tea lights. Very nice, Kelly always has these thoughful touches.
I liked the tea.

John liked the tealights

Later on we went to the Tonga room, has some drinks with umbrellas and a little dancing. It was a nice wedding. Mellow … everyone was happy. I have known Kelly for over 25 years, it was an honour and a priviledge to attend her intimate family wedding.

That is such a great picture of the three of you! And can you believe I had to fight her to keep that one of her looming over the tea cup.
That teacup shot is great! Christine is insane. Thank god you are not, John. At least… not in that particular way. Congratulations to Kelly!
Yay, that’s awesome.
Belated congrats to Kelly and Tim
