John and I went to the ‘rents house on Friday. He had never been up up up the hills of the River before. I drove way up past the the Hacienda bridge then at a certain point we walked the rest of the way to my mothers house. She lives up a very narrow road, last time I was there I had to back up all the way down the hill. Since a mountain is on one side and a scary cliff the other side, we walked. Mother still called me a chicken, but hey its been a long time since I lived on the river.
We had dinner, walked around and I played with the cats. We brought her a printer and took a look at the non functioning printer. It had stopped working almost a year ago, yet when I found it (under a few boxes) it was still connected to the computer and blinking with an error code. For almost a year. The printer had been blinking for almost a year.
Set up new printer, worked just fine. Discovered she has 256 of memory, so I will buy some new memory this week and we’ll install it for her. and perhaps a can of compressed air cause the CPU was nasty. John thought he might have seen Jimmy Hoffa in the CPU but sadly no.
Saturday was Izzy and Jim’s bbq. They were celebrating 1 year of home ownership! The house looks fabulous and Jim was a bbq fiend. They had some sort of marinade (which I have been promised the recipe) which … well it rocked. Words fail to describe how yummy it was.
After bbq, went to Berkeley and met up with Adam, Joe and Julie. for dinner we went on Telegraph Avenue and found parking right next to Top Dog on Hearts Avenue. It was a sign from the Fates and it was a yummy sign.
Sunday I left John to organize a few things a round the house and went to Andy’s. He bought a house a few months ago and I hadn’t seen it since moving day. Its lovely, hardwood floors and great big huge bay windows with a awe inspiring view of .. well the bay. A new house is not the only change for Andy. He is getting married in June. Nat is a lovely person and a darn good cook. Her thai food was fabulous. Andy seems so happy.
Oh and I have 10 hearts.
