My neighbor stops me this morning as I groggly walk towards the car (pre coffee). Our other neighbor got two kittens over a month ago, cute little tabbies, brother and sister. Most of the complex had played with them a few times. Well, she keeps them in the garage and doesn’t play with them.
The other neighbor talked to someone in the complex who would love the two kittens, they approached the woman and she said no, she wants to keep the kittens. Then she left them out all night. They were playing around our feet as we talked this morning.
Concerned neighbor also told me the woman had had a cat last year as well, the cute little calico that used to come up and play with Zori. Just like these kittens, left outside all night. The cat got pregnant, the woman sold the kittens to a pet shop and dropped off the momma cat “behind a barn”. Why do people do this?

I think it’s a moral obligation that you a) pick up the kittens and take them upstairs to your apartment where they will be safe. then b), when you get to work, call animal control and explain what you have done and why, and that the woman is someone who should not be allowed to have animals. Your choice as to whether to surrender or find homes for the kittens, but formal complaints are important.
remind John that he has some experience with this, due to my incredibly horrible pit-bull-raising-for-fighting neighbors. the fact that I was unable to save their puppies just kills me, but at least I got the kitten away from them..
I forgot to mention, the concerned neighbor is calling animal control (she prolly already has). She will also inform the other neighbor who wanted them they will be at the shelter.
