Saturday, Mom and I were on a mission to get hair done and any last minute Turkey day materials. Well she recommeded this store, so we went, only to discover it was out of business. Next door was PetSmart and Mom needed some cat food. So we walked in and it was Pet adoption day. There was 4 cages of cats all looking for a new home via the Humane Society. In the very back was a smaller cage, 2 kittens peering out. These kittens were owned by Noahs B’ark. Noah’s Bark has no shelter and is reliant upon a fostering network to provide temporary homes for the animals. Being a rescue organization the animals are kept in foster homes until they are placed in permanent happy homes of their own. The foster mother was there, and she must have sensed something because she latched on to Mother and me. She was friendly to other people but really her attention was on us. There was one 9 week old orange male. Mom Loves orange male cats. I called up John and had him come to the store.
John made it to the store in record time, he picked up the kitten who then playfuly batted him on the nose. That was it… John had made a connection to the kitten.

Kitten is enjoying exploring the house and tormeting Zori a little bit.
It is perfect karma, Zori tormented Sierra when she was a kitten. No fights, just a occasional growl. They both slept on the bed last night, well mostly stared at each other.
The kitten is okay with us when we are sitting, lying down, but hasn’t quite made the connection with the walking blobs versus the petting blobs.
So we haven’t picked a name yet. Any suggestions?

Morris!
Oh, he’s so cute!! Congrats!
I wish I’d known you were looking… my daycare provider is giving up her 7-week-old orange tabby, Roscoe.
Thanks for the offer. It had to be a certain cat. We went looking a few weeks ago, and out of 3 different humane societies, didn’t find the right cat. So we stopped looking. Then he found us.
My vote for a name:
Instead of Karma… Name him Karmen or Karmo (since he’s a boy) =)
My suggestion still stands, a geek name is an imperative, therefore I suggest:

Oh! He’s an angel straight from heaven! So cute! Congratulations on finally finding him. John looks sooo happy. I like male orange tabbies too. My, oh so creatively named “Oranges”, is probably my favorite of all our cats. Though they are all my favorites when I’m petting them. Yours definitely has a particular look, I can almost feel his name, like it’s on the tip of my tongue. Of course, it took us months to come up with the names Jack and Abe for our older brother cats.
Zori does not look happy!

I was thinking of a suitably geeky name suggestion, and was gonna go with something lame like Legolas or something. When it struck me the cat doesn’t look like a Legolas, but he does in fact look like a “Lego”
Wow! He is super cute and looks to have quite a special personality. He reminds me of Falkor the Luck Dragon from The Never Ending Story.
Congrats on your new kitty. It took me forever to come up with Bit and Byte for my two orange cats. I hope inspiration strikes, or perhaps he’ll be uncat like and tell you his name soon.
