We made the annual trip to geek mecca, Dundracon, this weekend. Dundracon is a February convention in San Ramon, California, featuring board games, miniatures, card games, LARP, roleplaying, and SCA. John arrived on Friday night and ran his game a few hours later. I arrived Saturday afternoon and crashed Adams d&d game. A good time was had by all.We discovered:
- In-n-Out is the only place open after midnight. In-N-Out is invaded by teenagers who are bored. In-N-Out is the best place to break up with your teenage girlfriend, on the phone, after asking your friends, and ordering french fries.
- Some people get obsessed with rules.
- I played Spirit of the Century for the first time, a pulp role-playing game that takes place in the 1920′s. The other players were all great and a good time was had by all. The room next to us was playing a superhero based game and I could hear John yelling in joy as he defeated evil.
- We left Sunday night and this time I didn’t get the Dundracon headache. This treat often last 3-4 days, comes from staying inside the hotel, not getting fresh air, little sleep and I think (although not proven) some gamers dislike or fear of soap. For gods sake gamers, bathe!
