Jury Duty – the civic wait

I’m in the assembly room among a large group of people waiting to be called for jury duty. One poor volunteer had to hear one woman bitch about being here for at least 15 minutes. There is a movie playing and people are watching with anticipation and often complete boredom. Tidbits gleaned from the movie

Now the wait begins……Many, many hours later, I am dismissed. There were over 125 people, 18 called to the jury box, questioned and few dismissed and the rest selected. The procedure was interesting, but I questioned keeping one of the jury members who said “No I don’t think I can be impartial and would say he is guilty.)
