Julie just sent a link to “The Marriage Rating Scale” from boingboing. Written by George W. Crane, MD, he was a marriage counselor and wrote a syndicated national newspaper column called “The Worry Clinic.” He developed a test in the late 1930s called the Marital Rating Scale — Wife’s Chart.
Here is the chart:

I think Dr Crane has some over compensation issues and was very very lonely. And on the side note, he can go DEMERIT himself.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the scoring… 18 demerits vs. 5 merits equals what? Negative 13? COLOSSAL FAIL!!
On the other hand, my other half has 10 demerits and no merits. ROFLMAO!
Nowhere does it talk about the coffee! What if wife makes crappy coffee rather than serve instant!
Raw Score: 1…but at least she doesn’t wear red nail polish like a tramp!
Now on a serious note isn’t it interesting that no Husband rating scale comes up on a search for the esteemed Dr. Crane.
