Why is it Ball of Fluff with Claws (AKA Kitten) will run around the bed about 20 minutes biting your toes before the alarm goes off, but ONE minute before the shrill beep goes off, plops down and goes to sleep. How does he know?

On chilly nights, when John goes to bed before me, I put my ice cold feet on him. They warm up fast.

Saturday John and I started a tradition and went tree hunting. We arrived at Frosty Mountain in the afternoon. A large field of tree’s awaited us. You are provided with a saw and something to easily transport your prize. We had some cider and started our hunt. Once John spied the large saws he was hooked. We wandered up and down the aisles until the perfect tree was location. Brandishing the saw, he made quick work on the tree. We took the tree to the packing location, where it was netted and placed into the car. Bought a stand and then started the decorating of the tree. John was impressed by the vast collection of Star Trek ornaments (except for the voyager). Lego was interested in everything we were doing, and hopped all around the tree as we placed various trinkets on the tree. Zori, not so much.

This past week has been fun and then hard.
Thanksgiving went ultra smooth. I brined the turkey again, and it came out wonderful. Even the slightly sarastic member of the family was singing praises. This is the preecooked turkey, it was so darn good we forgot to take a picture of it when it was done.
. Even though I hate mashed potaoes everyone else loves them. I used our new handy dandy kitchen aid mixer. Popped in quartered, boiled potatoes, some cream and flipped the switch, perfect mash potatoes in minutes! Tries some new recipes that people seemed to love, sautéed green beans and mushrooms, cooked in sherry and then topped with toasted slivered almonds. Yum.
Much food was consumed. Then we played Apples to Apples. Now my mother and her sisters were a little excited and John found it a tad bit difficult explaining the game to them. They were more challeneging that his sophmores. But they got it and seemed to enjoy the game. John made extra points when he compared weddings to the Bataan Death March. Ahh good times…. The cleaning then started, several dishwasher loads, moping, and cleaning later the kitechn was back to its normal beauty. Gconnor and mconnor stopped by and we played more games. It was ncie to see ‘em.
The next day was Thanksgiving at the Stepmothers. Good time was had by all. Work up the next moring … sore throat.
Spent the next 6 days on the couch. Cancelled all other family functions. Not fun. So out of it, I couldn’t even play any games! Lucky I had little kitten to keep me company. Kitten and Zori are now pretty good freidns they play a lot. Zori will chase kitten across the loving room. Then suddenly kitten is chaging Zori across the other way. No claws, and no mews, so its all good. Kitten’s name you ask?

Lego Thanks Adam for your fine fine suggestion.

Around 11:30 on Saturday I started a headache. It lasted until about Monday around 5. It wasn’t a full blow migraine with swirly colors, noise and the lovely virtego. But it still suxed. So much for going to the Corn Maze.
Before the ache of the head, John and I went to the Humane Society to look at and perhaps get a cat. John wants a cat that will like him and Zori just needs a friend during the day when we are at work. Well, the Humane society was haveing a special that day. We got there at 12:15, it opens at 12:00 and already there was an line of people. The society was not ready for the huge amount of people and the organization was not the best. There was no way of discovering which cats were already adopted, unless you stood in line (for an hour) and then discovered that cat was gone. All the cats we liked were already adopted. We went to two other places and just didn’t find a cat that called to us. Although they were all very cute.
