John and I went to Stockton this weekend to visit friends at at BBQ. It was hot, ugh but nice to meet some people we normally don’t get a chance to see very often. One had just gotten a puppy. This puppy. This cute, friendly, happy puppy. Others brought a 30+ year old ice cream maker and cranked up some ice cream before out eyes. A good time was had by all, as the drinks flowed, the meat was bbqed and consumed and there was plenty of puppy time for all.
Afterwards we made our way to fabulous Lodi for a showing of Batman. We stood in like for about 20 minutes after getting our tickets. It was kinda funny that people would walk up to the ticket taker hand the tickers over and act very surprised when informed that line right next to them was for the batman movie and no they could no just walk in. Didn’t really matter though, plenty of seats left. It was a good flick.

Went to store Saturday. Was singing softly to myself. This woman turns around, “You have a lovely voice! Do you sing?” Made my day!

Its been a long two week, a few projects came up at work and the heat had been very very unpleasant so no energy to write. I’ll try to catch up. The camera from Savage Raftdown is MIA, once I get some pics, there will be a post.
But lets start with the excitement of yesterday! There was about 9 people in the house as we gamed and as the day worse on, all of us could smell smoke. First thought was stinky bbq or maybe even the smoke from all the fires. Shut the door! I got up to close some windows, looked down and saw the giant metal garbage can in the middle of the complex was on fire. Some neighbors where spraying it with a water hose and huge black smoke was pouring from it.
We went down to investigate. John took over the waterhose duty and a neighbor called the fire department. They arrived pretty darn quickly, although by that time John had gotten most of the fire out and the smoke had lessened.

They turned on the big hose and slightly miscalculated the angle. Water shot over the wooden shed that contains the garbage bins and hit a few cars parked behind it. Well one car …. our car.

We now have a dent and a dangling light , who knew those hoses were so powerful? The firemen seemed really embarrassed and sorry. We are like *shrugs* it happens. They were outside for over an hour afterwards, waiting for the claims adjuster. Poor guy had to come over on a Sunday night. John and I were guessing the fireman who was controlling the hose is gonna get razzed at work hopefully he wont get into to much trouble.
